Rifflandia Music Festival is a music festival set in Victoria, British Columbia. By its fourth year, Rifflandia was an established, much-anticipated annual community event. This sense of belonging was at the core of my concept for the logo design. I removed the ‘U’ shape from the festival’s ‘R’ initial, with the idea being that to make the festival complete, it needed ‘you’. That year’s design was about framework and it carried through in all of the pieces I created, from posters and clothing, to the Rifflandia Magazine. That year also included more spatial design as it was the first time they added the sizable stadium Royal Athletic Park to their list of venues.
